Итак, прошло полтора года с того злополучного дня, когда Серенького сбила машина. Мы вместе с ним пережили множество тягот, связанных с тяжелейшей травмой позвоночника и осложнениями. Всё приходилось узнавать методом проб и ошибок. Толковых советов по уходу за котятами с такой тяжёлой травмой найти не удалось. Люди просто не пишут подробностей, да и ситуация у каждого своя, уникальная. И в нашей вет. клинике тоже особо посоветовать ничего не могли, так как опыта лечения и дальнейшего ведения таких котят у них прежде не было. Так что приходилось буквально жить одним днем, решать проблемы по мере их поступления и строить свою собственную систему ухода, опираясь на приобретенный опыт.
A year and a half has passed by since that unfortunate day when Serenky was hit by a car. Together we had to go through a lot of hardships due to severe trauma of his spinal cord and multiple complications in connection with it. We had to learn how to take care of him ad hoc* just following trial and error path. We searched high and low but could not find truly useful and practical advice as to take care of the cats with such severe spinal trauma. People simply don’t record the details and each situation is very unique. Our vet clinic also could not give us any specifics concerning his daily routine care. So, we had to live just one day at a time, sort the problems out as they appeared and invent our own care system basing on gained experience.
*Ad Hoc is Latin and means 'to this'
It is used to indicate something that is done at the time without planning ahead of time.
