BOTTICELLI THE ELEPHANT
You've heard of paintings made with elephant dung, but what about paintings done by an elephant?
The elephants at Melbourne Zoo have a surprising artistic talent hidden up their trunks, and visitors can watch their amazing skills in action.
Controversial artist Chris Ofili won the 1998 Turner Prize with his elephant dung works, but Asian elephants Bong Su and Mek Kapah use a more conventional method for their pictures - coloured paints and a brush.
The giant animals love to hold a paint brush in their trunks and create abstract artworks on canvas, and spectators at the zoo enjoy the results just as much.
The elephants' paintings are sold on the site, with proceeds going to an elephant conservation program in Sumatra, Indonesia.
So how did the elephants develop their surprising talents? No one knows for sure, but remember, an elephant never forgets.
