Кстати, в протестанстких церквях в Голландии присутствие собак в церкви
судя по этим картинамбыл делом привычным.

A French church saw in 2006 with a mass Christening - for PETS.

Parisien priest Father Philippe has never been the most conventional man of the cloth - and some would say he's barking mad.

The wacky worshipper celebrated the new year by welcoming a range of furry and feathered friends into his congregation.

Dogs cats, birds, and even camels were brought along to take their first (four-legged) steps into religion at Saint Rita's Gallican Catholic Church.

The less than orthodox occasion may have been greeted with howls of derision from mainstream Catholics, but the two hour service went purringly, with barely a sound from the newly Christian creatures.

They must have been clever pets too, as Mass was given in Latin.

The twice-yearly event is always popular with Parisian pet lovers keen to gain their animals' entry to the pearly gates with them, and this occasion was no exception.

Animal rights charity the Brigitte Bardot Foundation is behind the event - and with a legendary sex kitten involved, no wonder it was so popular.

Как интересно! Я раньше так пристально не вглядывалась, но по-моему, не попадались раньше такие картины. Хотя, наверное, присутствие стбак казалось в те времена настолько обыденным, что и в храмах не вызывало особых эмоций.

Я раньше тоже не видела собак в храме, во всяком случае в таких количествах.

Есть такой замечательный и очень добрый комедийный сериал в Британии - Vicar of Dibley.
Там целая серия о подобной службе, только там не CHRISTENING, а blessing
