Ежик-альбинос
Mar. 7th, 2006 05:06 pmТак уж получилось, что у меня сегодня второй пост на тему зверей.

I'M ALL WHITE!
Snowball the hedgehog looked to be in a bit of a prickly situation when he fell into a garden pond.
But luckily for the rare albino he was pulled out of the water just in time by a couple who were out walking in Blindley Heath, Surrey.
He was then rushed to Wildlife Aid rescue centre in Leatherhead where staff say he is the first albino hedgehog they have seen in 25 years.
Ironically, falling into the pond may have saved the little hedgehog's life. He was very thin and extremely underweight and wouldn't have survived the winter.
So now staff are feeding him on a diet of snails, worms, slugs and dog food, and letting him hang out with other hedgehogs at the centre.
Senior veterinary nurse Sara Cowen said: "Snowball had a lucky escape as he might now have been able to get out and would have got exhausted and drowned. The couple couldn't believe it when they saw the pure white hedgehog and I must say we were a bit stunned too.
"He was very thin and he wouldn't have survived the winter. Now he is living with three normal-coloured hedgehogs.
"We thought he might get bullied because he is different to the others but he is getting on very well."
Snowball will now get a period of pampering before being released into the centre's protected garden. Staff can then decide whether he will be able to be set free into the wild.
