The Annunciation
May. 29th, 2009 12:20 pmAttributed to Petrus Christus (Netherlandish, active by 1444, died 1475/76)
Possibly a fragment of a much larger picture, this Annunciation transforms the laconic narrative of the Bible into a sort of visual poem or hymn. The angel wears the liturgical robes of a priest, and the Virgin is sheltered in the doorway of a church that is part Romanesque (right) and part Gothic (left), marking the transition from Judaism to Christianity.
The attribution is not certain. Formerly ascribed both to Jan van Eyck and Hubert van Eyck, it is probably by Petrus Christus. Информация взята тут
Обязательно посмотрите в большом разрешении 800 Х 1000. Как чудесно написана дорожка в саду! И очень интерсный ракурс изображения, мне кажется.
