А вот современница и дальняя родственница моей вчерашней героини.
Эта юная фемина тоже одета в монашескую рясу, францисканскую, замечу. Но вот до монашеского образа жизни ей было далеко.

Родилась 23 июня 1695 года, умерла 8 апреля 1758 года.
Дочь Людовика III Бурбон-Конде и Мадам де Нант, внебрачной дочери Людовика XIV и Монтеспан.
Не была замужем. Предпочитала вести свободный образ жизни. Имела большое количество любовников.Часто принимала их, одевшись в костюм монахини.

Pendant la période suivant la conspiration de Cellamare, dans laquelle sa tante Anne-Louise-Bénédicte était impliquée, elle entretint une relation avec un des conjurés: le duc de Richelieu. En 1740, elle vend la terre de Vallery où tous les Condé avaient été inhumés.Nommée "Mademoiselle" en l'absence de fille ainée du frère du Roi, elle perdra cette appelation à chaque fois que le duc d'Orléans aura une fille. Et la reprendra à la mort de celles-ci.
Petite fille de Louis XIV et de Madame de Montespan, garda jusqu'à sa mort son titre envié de Mademoiselle, puisque, très libre et très indépendante, elle collectionna les amants qu'elle choisissait et
abandonnait à sa guise, mais ne se maria pas. Elle fait scandale à la cour, on chansonne ses amours et le ministre d'Argenson l'appelle "la maquerelle royale". Elle s'en moque et s'en amuse. Si elle s'efforce de
choisir les maîtresses de son cousin Louis XV, c'est qu'elle est soucieuse de jouer un rôle politique. Elle cherchait par ce moyen à faire prévaloir des vues qui n'étaient pas sans originalité.
Mademoiselle de Charolais, amie de Voltaire, occupe une place singulière dans cette première moitié du XVIIIe siècle."

After his conversion St. Francis girded himself with a rough cord in memory of the cords with which Christ had been bound during His Passion, and a white girdle with three knots cam subsequently to form part of the Franciscan habit. According to Wadding, St. Dominic received the cord from St. Francis and always wore it under his habit out of devotion to the saint, his example being followed by many of the faithful. In his Bull "Ex supernae dispositionis" (19 November, 1585), Sixtus V erected the Archconfraternity of the Cord of St. Francis in the basilica of the Sacro Convento at Assisi, enriching it with many Indulgences, and conferred upon the minister general of the Conventuals the power of erecting confraternities of the Cord of St. Francis in the churches of his own order and of aggregating them to the archconfraternity at Assisi. The same pope, in his Bull "Divinae caritatis" (29 August, 1587), granted new Indulgences to the archconfraternity and empowered the minister general of the Friars Minor to erect confraternities of the Cord of St. Francis in the churches of his own order in those places where they are no Conventuals. Paul V, in his Bull "Cum certas" (2 March, 1607), and "Nuper archiconfraternitati" (11 March, 1607) revoked all spiritual favours hitherto conceded to the archconfraternity and enriched it with new and more ample Indulgences. Both these Bulls were confirmed by the Brief of Clement X, "Dudum felicis" (13 July, 1673). Finally, Benedict XIII in his Constitution "Sacrosancti apostolatus" (30 September, 1724), conceded to the minister general of the Conventuals authority to erect confraternities of the Cord of St. Francis in churches not belonging to his own order in those places where there are no Franciscans. New privileges and Indulgences were conceded to the archconfraternity by two decrees of the Sacred Congregation of Indulgences dated 22 March, 1879, and 26 May, 1883. Besides the ordinary requirements necessary for the gaining of all plenary and partial Indulgences, the wearing of the cord and enrollment in the records of the archconfraternity are the only conditions imposed on the members.

Впрочем, возможно, что в ее руках она имеет еще и другие смыслы.

А мне вот дама на второй картине очень нравится - такая живая девушка... только в рясе она как-то не смотрится.... "не пришей кобыле хвост", как говорят в народе. Или как говорят в и-нете, "Тема монахини не раскрыта, низачот". Надо полагать, в те времена, картина считалась очень фривольной?

В геральдике такой узел называют Савойским или Узлом Любви.
А еще завязанные таким узлом ленты, дарили дамы рыцарям на турнирах.

Что интересно, из семи дочерей Людовика III Конде только одна была замужем. Раньше я жалела этих незамужних дев, особенно дочерей Людовика XV. А теперь думаю, не очень-то они к замужеству и стремились. Ведь это означало попасть в чужую страну, всегда ходить беременной, терпеть измены мужа... Тем более, в это время незамужние девы уже не обязаны были уходить в монастырь, а вели вполне светский образ жизни.
